About Chalet Loisel ...
This lovely traditional 4 star chalet in St-Jean-de Sixt was built by a local chalet builder in 2000. South-facing, it was designed to make the most of the glorious sunshine and the splendid views along the Aravis valley to Thônes. Since then it has been renovated and updated by the present owner.
Chalet Loisel is in a quiet location halfway between the ski stations of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, so it is surrounded by great skiing. There's also a small ski field in St-Jean-de-Sixt, snow permitting, which is perfect for young beginners who need to build confidence before they head for the main slopes.
There are several shops and restaurants in the village, and it's just a few minutes' drive from the market town of Thônes, where you will find larger supermarkets and a weekly market.
Sleeping 10 people, this property is ideal for two families, and kids will love the large flat garden, which is a rare feature in the mountains!
The property ...
Sleeping 10 people in five bedrooms with three bathrooms, the spacious accommodation at Chalet Loisel is set over three floors.
Kids will love the room on the top floor (without window), and two of the double bedrooms have doors onto the balcony - the perfect place for your morning coffee.
The well-equipped kitchen/diner means cooking and eating together is never a chore. After dinner you can gather around the open fire and plan the next day. On warmer nights, enjoy a barbecue on the terrace or a glass of wine on the balcony while you watch the sun set behind the mountains.
The chalet is furnished in traditional mountain style with a contemporary twist, with quality leather sofas, wooden stools and fur throws completing the cosy look.
About the area ...
When you stay at Chalet Loisel, you’re surrounded by great skiing.
The pistes of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand are both just minutes away. Your Aravis ski pass gives you access to more than 220km of superb pistes suitable for skiers of every level, so there is always a new challenge waiting. Cross-country skiers will discover trails from St-Jean-de-Sixt - pick up a map from the village tourist office - and young beginners can find their ski legs at the small pistes in the village.
Non-skiers are well catered for too, and can go ice skating or swimming in La Clusaz, where the heated indoor and outdoor pools are open all year round, or try snowshoeing, sledging, dog-sledding and sleigh rides.
In the summer, there's just as much to see and do!
If you’re looking for a challenge, St-Jean-de-Sixt is one of only two places where you can try Bun-J ride - a cross between ski jumping and bungee jumping. Other more traditional pastimes are available too - marked footpaths criss-cross the mountains, many starting from the village, or you can explore by mountain bike or on horseback.
There are swimming pool complexes in Le Grand Bornand, La Clusaz and Thônes, or if you’re looking for something a little more challenging, there’s a climbing school, via ferrata routes, a tree-top adventure park, canyoning, white-water rafting and paragliding all nearby.
If you like the sound of a holiday at Chalet Loisel, check your dates. We’ll hold it for 24 hours while you make up your mind! But don’t wait too long, this OVO Network property is very popular with our guests.

The OVO Network Review
“Good for groups including skiers and non skiers.”
The 5 bedroom 3 bathroom Chalet Loisel is set up for 10 guests over 3 floors and has 180m2 of floor space. Each floor has a bathroom and wc, the bedrooms are spread out over all 3 floors too.
Chalet Loisel is a good winter choice for groups including skiers and non skiers - the slopes and villages of Grand Bornand or La Clusaz are around 4 km away. It is also a good summer base for hikers who prefer to set off on foot for a walk from the chalet, in the peace and quiet of the hills above St Jean de Sixt, or those who enjoy visiting local markets, and the Lake Annecy beaches.
There are lovely uninterupted views from the south facing terrace and balconies, and a fenced in and fairly flat garden, great for outdoor fun winter and summer alike, and quite rare in the mountains.

From the Owner
...a real escape, whilst at the same time it is close to St Jean, La Clusaz and Grand Bornand.
“My chalet is available to you all year round if you are looking to spend your holidays in the mountains. It is located on the beautiful slopes of the Alps, in the village of St Jean de Sixt, just 5 minutes drive away from La Clusaz. In an exceptional and yet typical Savoyard environment, the chalet looks on to the valley down towards Thônes with incredible panoramic views. It’s a real treat for the eyes and an unforgettable sight for whoever chooses to spend some time in this unique property. It is quiet and calm, and offers a real escape, whilst at the same time it is close enough to St Jean, La Clusaz and Grand Bornand for visitors to easily enjoy all of the fabulous amenities these villages and ski stations have to offer.
The chalet is south facing so enjoys sunlight all day long. It has all the facilities you need for a great holiday in the Alps. On the ground floor you’ll find an entrance hall, a living room with fireplace, a great picture window with a fantastic view onto the outside space and the terrace, a kitchen, a bedroom which opens onto the garden, and a bathroom and separate toilet. Upstairs you’ll find 3 other bedrooms, 2 of which have a balcony with views across to the mountains, and another bathroom. You will also have the use of a garage and private parking for your vehicle. Below the chalet there is a big flat garden, [which is quite rare in the mountains!] then a field which means you are only overlooked by the majestic peaks of the Aravis. We chose to furnish the chalet in a comfortable mountain chalet style with good quality materials. Come and enjoy the snow in winter, and wonderful hikes in summer. There is so much to do in the area you won’t ever want to leave!
“A very comfortable and well-equipped chalet”
We had a marvellous stay in this chalet, which has a superb view of the surrounding area, and the sun came out too.

“A superb chalet with magnificent views”
A very beautiful chalet which is well equipped, particularly in the kitchen. The view is superb. Walking and snow-shoeing is possible from the door. The children loved the sledging. The chalet manager was really lovely. We recommend using snow chains, which were very useful in the cold weather.

“A carefree holiday”
We had an excellent week at Chalet Loisel, with our children. We loved the very good welcome. The location is perfect; quiet with an amazing view. The layout of the bedrooms and the bathrooms makes it easy to share the space. The decor is tasteful and well done. The sun and the snow showed up too.

“This week was a real pleasure!”
We spend a magnificent holiday at Chalet Le Loisel. Your chalet is a little marvel - nothing was missing, everything was lovely including the decor (we loved everything!). The underfloor heating was a real comfort. The view, the terrace and the lovely open fire... we really felt at home and looked after it as if it was our own home. The surroundings are also lovely: the La Clusaz ski area, the walks, the charming locals etc. An unforgettable week. We will definitely be back.
Henri D. - 23/01/2016
“We are already planning to come back. ”
We loved the view, the tranquility with plenty of space for each couple (large bedrooms), as well as the outside space for winter games, sledging etc. We liked the scenery and the walks too.

“So many great moments”
We had a wonderful stay at this charming mountain chalet. Memorable raclette diner with friends, our son's 7th birthday, snow plowing to leave the house, sledging down the garden, lovely wine by the fire... so many great moments! Thank you so much!
Patrick P. - 11/01/2014
“Don't hesitate to book!”
I spent a few wonderful days in this beautiful chalet set in a quiet location. It's a 5km drive to La Clusaz and 2km away from Saint-Jean-de-Sixt village centre. The views are amazing and the chalet is very well equipped (wifi!). The property is decorated and furnished with good taste and the wood burning stove adds to the cosy atmosphere of the place. We were warmly welcome by the owner. There was a lot of snow, ideal for our winter holiday, but we are thinking of coming back in the summer to enjoy the area and the chalet in a different way.

Why La Clusaz?
Less than an hour from Geneva, La Clusaz offers Alpine action all year round. A traditional farming village, it not only offers great skiing and superb summer activities, but also a real community feel, whenever you visit. Great restaurants, bars and nightlife combine with local markets, festivals and traditions to give you the best of all worlds.
